Over the past year at Arkitema, I have engaged with numerous individuals eager to innovate and digitize their workflows.

This journey, filled with intricate development projects, has underlined the necessity of having a well-thought-out plan to steer execution seamlessly.

Working in sprints has its own set of benefits, promoting efficiency and focus. However, I've observed a disconnect when interfacing with decision-makers who typically prioritize understanding the cost and duration over the agile benefits the SCRUM methodology brings.

I realized the pivotal role a roadmap can play in harmonizing these differing perspectives. A roadmap not only provides a clear visualization of the inter-dependencies among tasks but necessitates prioritization based on the critical path of the project.

By assigning time estimates to epics and high-level development tasks (while maintaining the flexibility for these to evolve), we manage to satisfy the management’s requisites for time and cost forecasts.

This approach has cultivated a middle ground where the dynamic agility of sprints merges with the structural foresight demanded by decision-makers, creating a symbiotic environment that values both efficiency and predictability.

As I continue to leverage roadmaps to bridge this gap, I am eager to witness the synergetic outcomes that this integrative approach will foster in future projects.Looking forward to more learning and growth in this space!
